An LED cube turns the stage into the centre of attention: an LED screen structure showing images on several faces, visible from any angle of the venue. What is an LED cube for events?
An LED cube is a cubic structure made up of LED screens on two, three, four or more faces, hung above the stage or standing on the floor. It is built by assembling the same LED modules as a flat screen, but mounted on a cubic structure rather than a straight frame. Each face is a complete screen, and they are all synchronised by the same video processor: you can wrap the cube in a single continuous piece of content or show a different image on each side.
The difference from a traditional flat screen is the 360° visibility. A screen facing forward is only seen well by whoever is in front of it; a cube can be read from any point in the room. That is why it works so well when the audience surrounds the stage: the centre of a dance floor, a DJ booth, a photocall or a stand with people passing on both sides.
Our experience assembling LED screens for events
We have spent years assembling LED screens for events across Spain, and we handle it from start to finish: transport, structure, rigging and levelling, video processor and a LEDLEMON technician who operates the screen throughout the day. An example of our work at events is the TraderLab Academy congress, at the Hotel Meliá Avenida de América in Madrid. We brought together more than 200 attendees in the main auditorium and installed an LED screen measuring 5 metres wide by 2.5 metres high, model P3.9, assembled and operated by our team over the two days. We have also fitted high-end congress halls with indoor LED screens, such as at the Hotel Palace de Barcelona, and installed video scoreboards for official competitions, such as at the Pabellón Municipal de Cunit. Which events we build an LED cube for
The cube shines whenever the audience is looking from several sides at once. These are the formats where it makes the most sense:
- Concerts and festivals: a hanging cube above the stage, visible from across the whole field, even from the sides.
- DJ booths and nightclubs: the cube wraps around the booth and turns the DJ into the visual focal point of the dance floor.
- Trade fairs and stands: hung like a totem above the stand, it can be seen from the far end of the aisles and draws a crowd from a distance.
- Photocalls and brand activations: branding on all four faces, with the brand legible no matter where you look from.
- Product launches and corporate events: the product sits "inside" the cube, surrounded by branded content.
- Sports events: a central cube above the court works as a video scoreboard visible from all the stands.
How we build the cube
We start with modular LED panels that we assemble onto a cubic structure; each face is synchronised by the video processor. From there, the key lies in two technical decisions:
- Indoor, close audience: we use fine-pitch P2.6 indoor, which keeps the image sharp from just a few metres away —ideal for photocalls, stands and booths.
- Outdoor or long distance: we mount high-brightness P3.9, visible in full sunlight and ready for open-air stages.
- Edges and curves: to finish the corners of the cube without visible seams —or for wraparound shapes— we turn to flexible modules, which adapt to non-flat surfaces.
Everything is included in the setup: structure, rigging, assembly and dismantling, transport and the technician who runs the cube during the event. You take care of the content; we handle the rest.
Which resolution (pitch) to choose for your cube
The pitch is the distance between pixels and defines the sharpness according to how close the audience is. The closer people are looking, the smaller the pitch should be:
- Very close audience (photocall, stand, DJ booth): fine pitch such as P2.6, so the image does not pixelate at short range.
- Medium- or long-distance audience (concert stage, outdoor event): high-brightness P3.9, which prioritises visibility and brightness over detail.
Before quoting, we check the audience distance, the ambient light and the type of content so we don't make you pay for a resolution that can't be appreciated at that distance.
How much it costs to rent an LED cube
The price of a rental is calculated from the square metres of screen and the number of days (as a guide: around €100/m² per day, with the second day cheaper). Our rental packs start from €799 per day with transport, assembly and technician included.
With a cube there is a nuance: the metres of all active faces add up, so the budget depends on the size of the structure and how many sides you want to switch on. A compact cube for a photocall is nothing like a large hanging structure for a festival, which is why we always close the rate based on the specific dimensions of your event.
