City councils and public administrations have a constant need to communicate with citizens: service hours, cultural activities, traffic alerts, weather conditions, emergency notices. Informational LED screens address this need with a dynamic solution, updatable in real time and long-lasting.
At LEDLEMON we have years of experience collaborating with public entities across Spain to design, manufacture and install custom informational LED screens, from small municipalities to major provincial capitals.
What is an informational LED screen?
An informational LED screen is a direct-view display, made up of LED modules assembled on a rigid structure, capable of showing text, images, videos and real-time data. Its content is managed remotely using specialized software, with no need for physical installation visits.
Depending on format and application, they go by different names: LED mupis (Urban Advertising and Information Furniture), LED totems, infocity, mono posters or videostands. All share the same technological foundation: outdoor LED modules with high water and dust resistance (IP65 or higher), ready to operate 24 hours a day.
Applications for city councils and the public sector
The versatility of LED screens allows them to cover multiple municipal communication needs:
- Weather information: temperature, humidity, air quality, UV index.
- Traffic regulation: speeds, capacity, road conditions, detours.
- Cyclist or pedestrian counters, with data accumulated in real time.
- Cultural calendar and events: concerts, fairs, municipal activities.
- Emergency notices: water cuts, public service incidents, safety protocols.
- Public awareness messages: health campaigns, road safety, environment.
Types of LED screens for the public sector
LED mupis and informational totems
The most common formats in public spaces: columns or monoliths made of stainless steel or aluminium with integrated double-sided or single-sided LED screen. They are installed on pavements, plazas and high-traffic pedestrian areas. Their centralized management allows you to update content on all city mupis from a single control panel.
Infocity and Mono Poster
Standard format supports for institutional and commercial communication. Widely used for dynamic signage at major municipal events, fairs or markets.
Videostands and large-format screens
For high-visibility spaces: roundabouts, city entrances, public building facades. They allow you to display high-impact content to a wide audience.
Remote content management
LEDLEMON's informational LED screens come with management software that allows you to:
- Update the content of all screens from a computer or tablet, without physical visits.
- Schedule broadcasts by day, time and specific screen.
- Launch urgent real-time alerts (incidents, weather warnings).
- Monitor the operating status of each screen.
- Integrate automatic data: weather feeds, traffic counters, news RSS.
